Kyozen Knife ("Kyozen", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit kyozen.co.nz or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle your information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
In short: we never sell your details, we never see your card number, and you can access, correct or unsubscribe at any time.
We only collect what we need to run our store and look after you:
Payments are processed securely by our checkout and payment providers. Your full card details go directly to them – we never see or store your card number.
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need:
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, store information on servers outside New Zealand. When this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
Cookies help our website work properly – for example, remembering what's in your cart – and help us see which pages are popular. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, like the cart and checkout, may not work without them.
We keep order records for as long as needed for warranty, returns and accounting purposes, including the period New Zealand tax law requires us to keep business records. Information we no longer need is securely deleted.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Our website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to customer information is limited to people who need it. If a privacy breach ever happens that's likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it's wrong. You can also ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons. Email us at admin@kyozen.co.nz and we'll respond as soon as possible, and within 20 working days.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
For any privacy questions or requests, email admin@kyozen.co.nz.
